Senior Design Manager – IT Support Technician Location - Lintott Norwich Purpose of the role: This role will provide effective IT maintenance, support and development across all aspects of the business. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Server and Desktop operating systems as well as the general maintenance of all other IT related hardware and software. The role also provides exposure to a broader range of ICT related projects and activities. What will you be doing: Provide desktop, server and network support. Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops. Install authorised software to laptops and desktops. Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops. Diagnose and resolve any technical issues with laptops and desktops. Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops. Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements. Completing internal user moves including phones. Patching of network and phones. Making of Cat 5e network cables where necessary. Assist in setting up and configuring new core servers. Assist in installing authorised software to core servers. Assist in ensuring patches and upgrades are applied to core servers. Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of any technical issues with core servers. Maintain current and accurate inventory of IT related hardware, software and resources. Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives e.g. creating purchase requisitions for IT related Hardware / Software. Assist in the preparation of IT documentation, meeting materials and correspondence. Assist in the development of the information technology / management systems which seek to remove waste, optimise / improve working practices & procedures. About you: Essential: At least 2 years-experience in an IT related role Demonstrable experience in the following areas: IT systems management and development. Collaborative / partnership working. Exceptional Health & Safety awareness. Qualification to at least HND level in a Computing related discipline. Desirable: Knowledge of IT systems in an Industry & or Engineering / Manufacturing environment. Degree level. Professional IT qualifications.
