This post is fixed term until March 2028 Do you want to work for the RTPI West Midlands and National Local Planning Authority of the Year 2024? This post provides the opportunity of working on challenging, but exciting major projects contained within our £3bn Regeneration Pipeline. You will be working within the Planning Regeneration Team but the multi-disciplinary nature of the regeneration projects will involve working with both internal and external partners to achieve the necessary outcomes. The role will also require identifying funding sources to drive regeneration projects forward within the borough, preparing development briefs and identifying the necessary supporting studies and assessments necessary to deliver major projects. Key duties of the role: Support or lead the development of regeneration schemes which deliver economic, social and environmental benefits for the communities of Sandwell. Contribute towards the creation of high quality places which meet the needs of Sandwell’s communities. Contribute towards the production of masterplans and strategies to enable comprehensive regeneration Identify and lead the necessary arrangements for viability studies, market assessments, land/property ownership, and valuations to be undertaken to determine scheme viability and development options. Identify funding sources and prepare funding applications to enable sites or deliver regeneration schemes, including the collation of relevant supporting information. Role requirements: Educated to Degree Level, preferably in a subject consistent with Planning and/or Regeneration. A licentiate member of the RTPI working towards Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Knowledge of key national, regional and local strategies which are key drivers for regeneration, including emerging strategies and knowledge of the local area in the context of Regeneration, including the key challenges and opportunities. Experience of working within a complex and challenging project environment. Knowledge of basic Project Management principles. Why work for Sandwell Council?
