Mō te tūranga - About the role
As the Senior Credit Manager, you will be part of the Southern Region, Business Credit team, responsible for providing independent and sound credit assessment and advice in relation to the Agri customer segment. The role is responsible for the delivery of independent and sound credit assessments on customer transactions, particularly those larger more complex files. Working closely with key stakeholders to ensure the consistent and effective implementation of the risk strategy within the Southern Region.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
In a typical day or week, you will:
1. Work as a senior member of the Southern Region, Business credit team, focusing predominantly on the Agri sector.
2. Build strong collaborative relationships with staff and executives to assist ANZ Business achieve its objectives whilst maintaining the portfolio’s credit quality.
3. Make sound credit decisions based on your quality analysis, in a timely manner, consistent with credit policies and requirements.
4. Identify and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of the credit process for agri customers, including policy simplification and enhanced use of data to drive insights.
5. Support your line manager in delivering a clearly articulated understanding of the position of the Business portfolio, together with identification of future risks and opportunities.
6. Promote and contribute to the risk management vision, mission and values, ensuring risk strategies are understood and actioned.
7. Be actively involved in management & oversight of the portfolio’s credit quality and engagement in projects to improve the efficiency and robustness of the credit process.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
1. Significant experience in business lending assessment, demonstrating the skills required to drive collaboration, influence and mentor key business stakeholders.
2. High level credit experience and in-depth knowledge of NZ business conditions, including sectors, influencers, drivers, legal and regulatory matters relative to lending, operational, and reputational risks.
3. Experience in analysing transactions to quickly identify core risk issues, addressing and mitigating them, and then designing appropriate controls to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome for both the customer and the bank.
4. Ability to manage and articulate current risk issues and look forward to best anticipate, and counter emerging risk issues.
5. Excellent relationship management skills demonstrated by an internal and external base of professional contacts.
