Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Basildon team as a Quality Manager.
As Quality Manager, you will ensure onsite compliance with company QMS to AS9100 REV:D certification & company quality policy. Provide effective support to all operations on the Basildon site. Support customers where required, by applying corrective actions and root cause analysis for any issues that may arise in day-to-day production.
Quality Manager Key Responsibilities
1. Support Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with the required industry standards (AS9100)
2. Support/ Maintain Quality Assurance System data
3. MRB: Supporting defect review / rectification activities, corrective actions
4. SCAR responses: Customer liaison for all quality related issues/queries and full cycle completion through to QMS system
5. Raising GRNC on suppliers on quality issues
6. Quality notices, toolbox talks, mentoring, training
7. Completion of First Article Inspection Reports, and Buddy check
8. Failure trend analysis
9. Prepare for and manage monthly Internal audits and external audits as and when required
10. Creation of quality metrics and KPIs
11. Working closely with Inspection and Engineering teams, along with production personnel
12. Raise job cards based on results of investigations to ensure rework of parts is completed in a timely manner
13. Support new business activity working with commercial team
14. CofC approvals for deliveries must be signed in timely manner and returned to stores
15. Participate in Continuous Improvements projects throughout the business
16. Work as part of the team in Walker Group
17. Other duties as and when required
Quality Manager Qualifications & Experience:
1. Ability to self-manage and prioritise workload
2. Clear, concise communicator
3. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Ability to work with customers/suppliers directly in a courteous and professional manner
5. Aerospace / defence experience is a plus
