Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and with around 1000 staff, is one of the largest departments in the Medical Sciences Division. The aim of Oxford Population Health is to reduce premature death and disability from human disease. We are seeking a Sample Management Assistant to work in the NDPH Wolfson Laboratory and help with the receipt and storage of biological study samples and general laboratory housekeeping duties under the guidance of the senior laboratory staff. Your main responsibilities will be to follow standard operating procedures to assist with sample reception, transport of samples and sample retrievals and storage, as well as operating procedures to support maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota. Minimum of three GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths with an excellent attention to detail and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and carry out repetitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy would be essential for this post. The post is full-time (part-time considered, minimum of 80% full time hours) and fixed-term for 2 years. The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Thursday 16 January 2025.
