The Complex Gynaecology Fellow at King's College Hospital, London, plays a pivotal role in managing and advancing care for patients with complex gynaecological conditions. As a tertiary referral centre, King's provides specialized services for patients with advanced endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, fibroids, congenital gynaecological anomalies, and complex benign gynaecological pathology, requiring multidisciplinary expertise and cutting-edge treatments. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to gain advanced surgical training, particularly in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) gynaecology, alongside leading experts in the field. The fellow will work within a multidisciplinary team of consultants, pain specialists, radiologists, urologists, colorectal surgeons, and specialist nurses, ensuring a comprehensive, patient-centered approach. The role also includes exposure to complex outpatient diagnostic pathways, advanced imaging interpretation, and participation in specialist MDT meetings to guide patient management. Additionally, the fellow will have opportunities to engage in research, quality improvement projects, and medical education, contributing to the development of evidence-based practices and innovations in complex gynaecology. Main duties of the job It is anticipated that this will be a fixed-term appointment for 12 months to extend the post, depending on success. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with main focus on Endometriosis and Complex Benign Gynaecology. This would involve managing outpatient clinics and gynaecology surgeries relevant to endometriosis and complex gynaecology including Open/ Laparoscopic/Robotic cases. The post also offers opportunities to gain experience in outpatient hysteroscopy, gynaecology ultrasound, early pregnancy scanning and colposcopy. The person will be expected to also cover emergency obstetrics and gynaecology on-call rota. They will be expected to participate in research/audit projects and will be encouraged to register for the relevant RCOG SITMs.There will be an opportunity for the post holder to maintain and develop obstetric skills in both the ambulatory and acute setting with clinical session on Labour ward and Maternity triage as part of their participation in the junior doctor's on-call rota as a registrar and provide support to less experienced O&G doctors on the rota. The ideal post holder should be within 12 months of CCT or CESR.
