The Colchester site is also the Centre of Excellence for the group for all Axial, Air Movement and Fire Safety products and serves to enable product & system sales in Building Services, Industrial, Original Equipment, and Tunnel & Metro applications globally. Our brand and product range is internationally recognised and flexible, from short-lead-time standard products through to technically complex design-to-order products. Manufacturing activities on site in Colchester include Assembly, Product Test, Stamping, Machining, Fabrication, and metal forming. Main Purpose of Role: Woods Air Movement is growing its Industrial & OEM business and seeks a high calibre Business Development Manager to identify and increase focus on selling powered ventilation solutions, with Axial Fans at the systems core. The successful candidate will focus on specific industrial applications including Power, Agriculture, and Cooling & Condensing, identify large Industrial Air Movement projects globally, and develop relationships with key accounts domestically and internationally. The role reports to the Head of Product Sales for OEM & Industrial. The Business Development Manager will have responsibility for developing identified key accounts on a global basis, operating within key application segments (e.g. Power, Agriculture, Cooling & Condensing), and supporting large Industrial Air Movement projects. The candidate will have responsibility for: Building, developing & maintaining targeted customer accounts working alongside each industrial application manager. Working to extend Woods Air Movement offer to customers within each application segment to increase orders & sales. Working with targeted account to provide solutions that result in customer specification of Woods Air Movement through manufacturer and/or end customer approval lists Partnering with clients to deliver solutions that are high performance and set industry standards and gain approval, which result in preferred supplier status. Assisting in the development & implementation of new products and technologies within customer products & services. Accurate, reliable & sustainable order, project & market forecasting to support budgeted sales margins and targets Evaluation of competitors’ products and market position in each segment & co-ordinate a plan to target each customer with the support of sales team. Monitoring changes in application market requirements Superb communication skills are required to liaise with customers, colleagues, and other departments to successfully develop and carry out the duties required, to given targets and deadlines. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Key Deliverables To promote Woods Air Movement Industrial business by direct contact, seminars, meetings etc to achieve maximum sales and exposure. Work to agreed and documented Commercial, Operational, and Marketing (COM) objectives. To achieve targeted growth in volume and sales To monitor and ensure control of gross margins and customer price list Provide visit summary reports upon return from any travel To take appropriate action in response to customer activity to maintain competitive edge Strategic Plans To provide data and advice on market size, segmentation and product mix to enable the preparation of strategic policy plans by Senior Management To evaluate and interpret product and application trends to ensure maximum efficiency customer/user requirements are achieved. To prepare and provide accurate budgetary and forecasting statistics to enable preparation of sales, marketing and financial strategic plans To ensure effective and efficient channels of selling by gaining preferred supplier agreements for different market segments To prepare detailed analysis of special markets and compare from desk and field research for specific territory with regard to new products and applications Sales & Products To promote company products & services to Manufactures & OEM’s, by direct engaging via seminars & meetings to leverage engineering knowledge & expertise of company products & brand. To identify product specification, performance and any necessary ‘appraisals’ To continually evaluate complete product range & contribute to new product business plans To ensure customer proposals & quotations are prepared accurately, speedily and to customer specifications to promote customer care and satisfaction To ensure products and applications meet with legislative requirements for particular application concerned To carry out customer field trials for new products and applications, providing reports on performance and cost targets To work closely with internal teams as part of developing products and markets etc. (eg. Person Specification/Profile: Essential possessed a relevant engineering or sales/marketing qualification to HND or Bachelors level and ideally at least five years of work experience in a similar field or occupation Be flexible, self-reliant and motivated with excellent communication and inter-personal skills Have a working knowledge and understanding of market products, prices, & applications. Be fluent in German & English Ability to work additional hours and will be required to travel internationally therefore a valid passport as well as meeting visa requirements for destination country Full clean Driving Licence There will also be occasions when the role will require you to host visitors to the UK, including driving & out of hours entertaining, which may extend over weekends. Has experience in dealing in multiple cultures & markets Can lead by example and positively influence the development of their peers. Able to demonstrate strategic thinking & direction in specific relation to managing Key Accounts/regions. Has the ability to speak multiple languages Industry knowledge and experience in Building Services / Ventilation sector. Ability to communicate clearly a technical / engineered solution including, but not limited to, product & application knowledge. Understanding of value proposition sales tools and techniques Ability and capacity to grow in the role and Woods Air Movement. Excellent internal & external communicator who is capable of accessing multiple contact levels within different types of customers – ideally with specific focus on:1).Power market segment development, 2).
