Murphy is recruiting a People Shared Service Centre Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Group People Director and part of the People Leadership Team, the role primarily includes managing a team of 12 individuals (4 direct reports and 8 indirect reports). You will manage the team to ensure all employee lifecycle administration processes and activities within the team’s remit are delivered effectively and efficiently and that all reports and reward activity are delivered timely and accurately.

A day in the life of a Murphy People Shared Service Centre Manager
Manage Administration Team Leaders to ensure all employee lifecycle and non-technical training administration is delivered to agreed SLAs and quality
Manage the People Business Partner (Reward and Group Functions) to ensure all reward activity is delivered timely and accurately and the central functions are supported effectively
Manage the People Analyst to ensure all people reports and data requirements are provided timely and accurately
Work closely with the Group People & Comms Director and Wider People Team on a range of People Initiatives, ensuring that the agreed people strategy is delivered
Work closely with the People Systems team to deliver system improvements, tracking progress against agreed priorities
Ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risk
Provide support to the People Business Partners to ensure the team are delivering in line with business needs
Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure all payroll related activity is processed on time and accurately
Continually identify opportunities to improve ways of working and create efficiencies
Input into different forums, ensuring the People Team agenda is considered
Ensure the company HR system is utilised in the most efficient manner at all times and is kept up to date and accurate by the team

Previous experience of managing an HR shared service centre team, along with strong experience of dealing with a varied workforce consisting of weekly paid through to executives
Excellent communication skills with ability to assimilate information quickly and advise impacts/opportunities
Highly motivated, proactive team player
Effective rapport builder working at ease with all levels across the business
Successful delivery of continuous improvement activities
Experience of driving high performance/delivery standards on a continuous basis through a shared services team
Full driving licence and available to travel across the UK
