Job Description
To provide a pro-active and comprehensive claims administration for a defined account portfolio, authorising and processing the payment of Group Protection claims.
What you'll be doing:
1. Triage and validate new Group Protection claims by completing all the required data checks and where appropriate, through liaison with other Group Protection Operations teams. Request medical evidence on new and existing Group Protection claims, determining what medical evidence to obtain in line with Legal & General’s philosophies or in line with specified instructions.
2. Preparing and authorising payment of new and existing Group Protection claims on all products.
3. Ensuring that claims are reviewed in line with targeted dates as specified during the assessment process.
4. Developing and building effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), in order to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes including the provision of support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
5. Where appropriate, assisting in the provision of Management Information on portfolio accounts which analyses performance and identifies key trends.
6. Ensuring a consistent, timely and accurate level of service is maintained in line with service level agreements and promises made to meet customers’ expectations, and that are within scope of Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policies. Where failures are identified, provide information and feedback to the relevant areas to enable changes and improvements to be made.
7. Adhering to processes and systems to ensure that all customer data is dealt with appropriately in accordance with legislation, in particular GDPR, the Access to Medical Reports Act (1988) and Legal & General’s Confidentiality policy.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
1. In-depth knowledge of core Group Protection products.
2. Good knowledge of Legal & General’s claims processes and procedures.
3. Understanding of the investigative and rehabilitation services provided by external organisations.
4. Understanding of State Incapacity Benefits.
