To be a successful member of our team you will need to be a registered mental health nurse, or Registered Nurse with at least 2 years post registration experience, preferably in older person's speciality.
All staff are asked to work flexibly across a range of day and night shifts across the OPMH assessment wards providing care to older people with functional mental health needs or with dementia.

Main duties of the job
Senior Mental Health Nurse in Inpatient Services is a core member of the ward team. They will act as a 'named nurse' for a specific group of inpatients on the ward as required and take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their nursing care needs.
As a senior nurse they will take clinical and managerial leadership of the ward environment on a regular basis, working in a way that promotes the principles of recovery to ensure individualised, safe, and effective care provision for all patients and taking the necessary management action to ensure compliance with organisational and stakeholder requirements.
They will actively contribute to a positive learning environment providing supervision and mentorship to qualified and unqualified staff including students, take a lead role for agreed elements of the ward function and participate in the recruitment, deployment, and management of staff.
They will take an active role / lead in the admission / discharge facilitation, including participation in the discharge facilitation and bed management rotas and take unit/site responsibility as the senior nurse on a regular basis.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Mental Health
* Successful completion of preceptorship programme
* Minimum of two years relevant post qualification experience

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year based on full time hours.
