Job Description:
Maintenance Technician (m/f/*)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Maintenance Technician with a Mechanical bias based at our Skelmersdale manufacturing plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
1. Improving the overall reliability and performance of plant, personnel and production equipment and processes
2. Tracking and reporting of process improvement results
3. Ensuring production targets are met by optimising output & minmising defects
4. Providing production line support in line with company goals and objectives
5. Carrying out preventive maintenance and equipment breakdown repairs
6. Establishing process conditions and carrying out in-line quality checks
7. Process monitoring and controlling according to Statistical Process Control (SPC) method
8. Analysing data to fault find and developing prioritised improvement plans for the platform
9. Maintaining and developing the delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality and production schedule requirements
10. Prioritising and promoting Health and Safety awareness
11. Training and mentoring staff in an approachable and constructive manner
12. Fostering and developing excellent relationships with key business stakeholders on site
13. Gathering & sharing best practice, both internally and externally
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
14. Apprentice trained or educated to OND Mechanical Engineering or similar.
15. Accomplished technical production support experience.
16. Skilled in turning, milling, welding and general workshop skills.
17. Mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical fault finding experience.
18. Experience of high pressure air systems advantageous.
19. Ability to read technical drawings
20. Ability to follow SOP’s and training processes
21. Ability and willingness to work shift work if required on an exceptional basis

Travel: For training purposes only
Working Hours – Day shift, Mon – Thurs 7.50am – 4.45pm, Fri 7.50am – 12.10pm
