We are looking for someone to join our well-respected North America economics team in London or Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
* Contributing to our views on the US and Canada economies and housing markets
* Generating our forecasts for the US and Canada economies and housing markets
* Producing frequent high-quality written economic analysis for our clients, ranging from short notes published immediately after an event to longer, more detailed publications on issues likely to influence the economy over a number of years
* Creating and maintaining interesting and insightful dashboards for our data platform
* Presenting our views and forecasts directly to clients, either in person, virtually, by email, by phone or via our regular webinars
* Interacting with the media to help build the Capital Economics brand and your own profile.
Requirements
* A strong academic background with, at least, a good undergraduate degree in economics or a closely related subject
* A minimum of two to three years’ experience as a macroeconomist or analyst
* A very strong ability to write clearly and concisely; the hiring process includes a writing assessment
* Proven analytical and quantitative skills with great attention to detail
* The ability to verbally present our views to clients/media in a clear and concise manner
* Experience and knowledge of North America economies is preferable, but it is not essential
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
