Personal Care Assistant £12.84/hr in Chorley - FTE - £25.0k - Chorley - PR7
We are currently recruiting for a female Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Chorley area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client with Spina Bifida, to lead an individual and independent lifestyle in their own home and the community. Our client has many interests and hobbies but particularly enjoys getting out and about in the community and enjoying social activities.
Hours:
* PA 1 - 24 hours each week.
* PA 2 - Average of 21.5 hours (3 x weeks of 24 hours & 1 x week of 14 hours).
* PA 3 - Average of 19 hours (1 x week 14 hours, 1 x week 24 hours, 1 x week 7 hours, 1 x week 31 hours).
This will be on a rolling rota and will be a mixture of day shifts and overnights including some weekend shifts.
You must be a driver with a full driving licence and be comfortable driving the client's wheelchair accessible vehicle and willing to support our client on occasion to attend gigs and weekends away, which will include nights away.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You must be self-motivated, well-organised, reliable, and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:
* Spina Bifida (desirable)
* Supporting Personal care including catheter care.
* A background in care with some moving and handling experience (would be preferable).
* The ability to provide companionship with good conversation and keeping clients safe whilst in their own home and also out in the community.
* Medication administration
You should also have:
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
Due to the nature of a personal caring role and working in an individual’s home, sometimes alongside family members, Personal Assistants may be required to deal with difficult situations and/or challenging behaviour on occasions, which should be approached in a calm and professional manner.
