We have an exciting opportunity for a Band B Senior Dental Officer to join our Community Dental Service.
The ideal candidates will be passionate about delivering high-quality dental care and will have experience with adults and children with additional dental needs.
The Community Dental Service is a specialised service that provides dental treatment for children, adults, and older people who, because of additional needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or vulnerability, are unable to access general dental care.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a Senior Dental Officer based at Selby War Memorial Hospital. The post holder will be job planned to work out of Selby and Monkgate Health Centre.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical treatment of paediatric and adult patients, including those with special needs. The successful applicant should have experience in the provision of dental care to children and adults, including the use of Relative Analgesia (or willing to undertake training) and General Anaesthesia. They should hold a current registration with the GDC and NHS performer number.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for:
* Providing efficient and responsive clinical treatment under local anaesthetic, conscious sedation, and general anaesthesia, and preventative care for patients within the HDFT CDS locality.
* Providing advice and emergency care to all groups of patients seen within the community dental service.
* Providing continuing care to patients with special needs who are unable to be treated within the general dental service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully registered with the GDC.
Experience
* Experience of working as a Salaried Dentist.
* Experience with GA.
* Teaching and supervising trainees.
* Experience of working within a Community Dental Service.
