Main Purpose
Reporting to the Health & Safety Lead, responsible for ensuring all properties in Target's portfolio are safe & compliant. To conduct the relevant property inspections using a bespoke inspection report utilising the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) to report any category one or two defaults.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
1. To carry out property inspections of the Target property portfolio to ensure they meet HHSRS standards and submit documentation detailing the condition and repairs required.
2. Report all category I and notifiable category II immediately to the health and safety team.
3. To complete annual Legionella risk assessments on the Target property portfolio.
4. To complete annual Portable Appliance Testing of all Target supplied appliances across the portfolio.
5. To complete and record annual surveys of known Asbestos Containing Materials and report immediately any defects.
6. Replace interlink smoke/heat detectors when required.
7. Carry out minor repairs whilst on site to maintain standards and increase the speed of service.
8. Complete all mandatory training.
9. Undertake any H&S training required.
10. Report any Health and Safety concerns to the Health & Safety Lead.
11. Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
12. Constantly review the service's processes with the management team to increase productivity and effectiveness in line with continuous improvement.
13. Attend all relevant training courses and meetings as requested by the organisation.
14. Attend a minimum of Bi-annual One to One meetings.
15. Adhere to all Target Housing's policies and procedures.
16. Perform any other duties as requested or required to further the aims of the organisation and as directed by the Management Team.

1. Understanding of current and changing Health and Safety Legislation.
2. HHSRS Practitioner qualification or the commitment to completing the course.
3. A keen eye for detail.
4. Conscientious and able to use own initiative.
5. Competent using IT to document, monitor and record.
6. Excellent team ethic.
7. Flexible and willing to adapt to a frequently changing role.
8. Understand the need for continuous improvement within the service.
9. Awareness and understanding of the people we support and their potential vulnerabilities.
