We are looking for a dynamic person to support the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Education and Development in delivering the education, training and continual professional development of all Pharmacy technical and support staff in the Trust.
We are committed to working with our prescribers and nursing colleagues to help deliver the best care for patients and we actively support pharmacists and technicians in developing the skills needed to play a part in this multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will hold GPhC UK professional registration as a pharmacy technician and have experience of supporting trainees.

Main duties of the job
You will support the apprenticeship training for pharmacy technicians and assistants in the Trust. You will support the development of members of the wider multidisciplinary team within the trust. This role will provide a unique opportunity to build relationships with stakeholders both within the trust and nationally to support and influence the development of training programmes in line with national requirements.
You will be required to contribute as needed to a clinical and operational pharmacy service within the Trust. To support seven day working, pharmacy staff work Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays on a rotational basis. The post holder would be expected to join this rota.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant level of knowledge and experience
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Evidence of continued professional development related to the job role
* One or more of the following certifications or working towards:
o Practice Supervisor certification
o Educational Supervisor
o Medicines Management (or equivalent)
o Final Accuracy Checking Technician
* Formal Leadership or Management qualification or working towards
* Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK)
Experience
* Experience as a registered Pharmacy Technician
* Experience of supporting trainees in the workplace
* Knowledge of legislation related to pharmacy practice
* Clinical knowledge relating to the actions and uses of medicines
* Experience of working efficiently in a busy pharmacy environment
* Experience of identifying educational needs for technical pharmacy staff (production of a TNA)
* Involvement in organisation and delivery of specialist educational programmes
* Practical experience of operational management / supervision
* Experience of training and group facilitation with small and large groups
* Experience of writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures
* Experience in a hospital setting
* Experienced in all areas of pharmacy gained through rotation
