We currently have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to come and be a valued member of our dedicated school team.
We are seeking to appoint effective, caring and enthusiastic people to join our thriving school in our Year 1 team. This role will involve working with a child with special educational needs, though working with groups of children and the whole class is also likely at times.
This position is for 30 hours per week, worked over 6 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Desirable skills:
* Experience of working with children with communication difficulties - knowledge of Makaton is a particular advantage

* Be energetic and creative, and be able to think on your feet.
* Be reliable, patient and understanding while also knowing how to have fun.

* Be able to work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
* Have an understanding of school safeguarding.
* Be adaptable, cheerful and willing to work as part of a team.
* Be willing to undertake additional training if needed.

This contract is initially until the end of this academic year, with the possibility of extension beyond this time.
