Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical or Electrical Bias

Your Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our clients Engineering team at their Burntisland, Fife site. We are looking for a leader with excellent team management experience to oversee the Engineering Team and the success of the department.
The Multi-Skilled Engineer is primarily responsible for delivering preventative, corrective, and reactive support to the operations team across all aspects of the site assets and infrastructure and to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing equipment. As an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be able to complete the designated preventative maintenance tasks, identify potential failures, and plan and execute corrective maintenance tasks.
Being able to identify potential engineering / operational solutions to recurring failures and to implement and complete resolutions will also be required. Experience of FMCG is also desired.
Key Experience and Qualifications:
1. CMMS
2. Development of PPM schedules based on experience, existing PPM’s and breakdown data.
3. Electrical maintenance, including PLC’s
4. Mechanical maintenance
5. Mechanical assembly
6. Motors
7. Motor control fault finding
8. Electrical / Pneumatic / Hydraulic fault finding
9. Source and manage external contractors / suppliers
10. Build relationships with group CI and engineering functions to enable continuous improvement
11. Data driven
12. Root cause analysis
13. Support the development of engineering technician colleagues on site
An effective team member, you will demonstrate high competency in health and safety awareness as well as excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mechanical power systems and the ability to interpret and amend technical, mechanical and electrical drawings are expected. Presenting a problem-solving can-do attitude will be key to success.
Due to the needs of the business, you may also be required to work weekends and unsociable hours, including nighttime. A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering related subject, ideally mechatronics is required and experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
