Your Role as Deputy SENCO: Support the SENCO in leading and managing the school’s SEN provision. Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure effective SEN support. Assist in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs). Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices in inclusive teaching and SEN support. Support in identifying students with SEN and coordinating interventions to meet their individual needs. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students. Take an active role in assessments, progress tracking, and data analysis to drive student success. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience supporting students with SEN. ✅ Previous experience in a SENCO, Deputy SENCO, or SEN leadership role (or strong SEN experience as a teacher). ✅ A strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes. ✅ Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. ✅ A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to SEN support. ✅ NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it). ✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
