Senior Credit Risk Modeller
Location: Hybrid (Head Office, West Bromwich)
Salary: c. £60,000 (Depending on Experience)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week 09.00 - 17.00, Monday - Friday
The West Brom are looking to recruit a Senior Credit Risk Modeller on a permanent contract. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Credit Risk Modelling & Analytics, the post holder will be leading the development of models and scorecards, and monitoring of the models to ensure they perform within tolerance. The incumbent would also be managing two junior modellers and overseeing their development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of a suite of models and tools used to support the Society's corporate objectives, primarily related to residential credit risk, impairment, and product pricing.
* Lead the development, maintenance, and first line validation of statistical models, impairment models, processes, and procedures, particularly IFRS 9 Models (PD, LGD & EAD) and scorecards.
* Undertake monitoring of models to ensure these are performing within tolerances and escalate any issues identified for corrective action.
* Provide analytical insight across the Society to support decision making.
* Support staff across the Society who use models/tools developed by the team.
* Ensure models are developed in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, as well as the development and validation standards set out by the Society's Model Risk Group (MRG).
* Prepare clear and concise papers relating to models for Risk Governance Committee meetings and Senior Management.
* Identify and manage risk within the area of responsibility.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Highly numerate and analytical.
* Experience of building regulatory models.
* Preferably a degree in Mathematics or a statistics-related subject.
* Exposure to specialist statistical and data mining tools preferred (SAS, Python, R).
* High level of attention to detail enabling the production of analyses with a consistently high degree of accuracy.
* Understanding of SS1/23 Model Risk Management requirements.
* Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
