Learning Support Assistant for D/deaf students
Grade 4: £17,656 per annum (inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement) for 30 hours and 25 minutes hours per week, term time only.
The working hours for the post are 8.20am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team working with deaf students in our Sensory Support Centre.
BSL is not a requirement but we are looking for someone who is deaf aware and who is willing to undertake further training, including deaf awareness and the basics of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
1. The role will involve supporting deaf students 1:1 in lessons, to enable them to access the curriculum.
2. You should have a good standard of education and be IT literate with excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
3. Classroom experience or experience of working with young people will be an advantage, as would an interest in/awareness of deaf education.
4. Support and training will be provided as necessary.
5. BSL is not a requirement of this role but training may be offered to successful candidates, depending on need. Candidates will also be required to undertake deaf awareness training.
