Valenti Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client! Ready for an exciting, hands-on role with autonomy? We’re looking for a Regional Engineer to join a committed and passionate team. This is your chance to take on field-based repairs, proactive maintenance, and customer-focused service. With a fully equipped van at your disposal and the opportunity to work across multiple locations within your region: Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, East Leicester, Birmingham, Bath.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Proactive & Reactive Maintenance: Handle both scheduled and emergency repairs at various retail locations, ensuring equipment meets Health & Safety standards.
2. Repairs & Installations: Perform tasks like lock fitting, LED light replacements, minor electrical repairs, and carpentry (e.g., door repairs, cabinet work).
3. Customer Liaison: Build strong working relationships with store managers and staff, ensuring tasks are completed and logged efficiently.
4. Stock Management: Maintain your van’s inventory, ensuring you have the tools and materials you need, and accurately report usage via our bespoke system.
5. Emergency Visits: Attend emergency repair calls as part of your client’s service-level agreement (SLA).
6. Reporting: Keep daily records of work completed, submitting high-quality reports and photos of tasks. For larger jobs, provide clear descriptions and material/time estimates for follow-up.
7. Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
1. Field-Based Maintenance: Travel to various retail locations for maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections.
2. Electrical & Carpentry Work: Handle basic electrical tasks (LED bulbs, switches) and carpentry (lock fitting, door repairs).
3. Handyman Services: Perform general maintenance, including painting and minor repairs.
4. Efficient Reporting: Use our portal to log jobs, ensuring reports are thorough and include clear photos of completed work.
5. Emergency Response: Address urgent repair calls as part of your SLA commitments to clients.
6. Stock Control: Ensure accurate tracking of van stock and report usage.
What We’re Looking For:
1. CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
2. Experience with carpentry, lock fitting, LED light replacements, and minor electrical repairs.
3. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.
4. Problem-solving ability to address challenges quickly and efficiently.
5. Organized & Self-Managed: Ability to manage your own schedule and tasks.
6. Clean UK Driving License: Essential for regional travel.
7. Can-Do Attitude: A proactive, hands-on approach to every task.
