We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences, and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Working within our Waste Networks as a Spills Reactive Repair Manager (12 month contract), you will be working with both internal teams and the supply chain to deliver enhancements across our patch. You will manage resources (assets, IT, and finance) to meet Company targets as well as customer expectations, delivering the highest standards of work for the lowest costs possible. As a Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for safely delivering a large portfolio of enhancements to reduce spills, mainly relating to Patching & Lining and Civils work.
The role will include being part of a company standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year, as does our network. The role will include working across different regions or areas as required.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Ensure that all Waste Network enhancement work across the region is verified appropriately and delivered quickly through our supply chain partners to avoid customer disruption.
2. Expedite the delivery of any enhancements where there is need to mitigate.
3. Complete audits, process quality and compliance checks, and feedback on findings and develop improvement plans to the various teams you support and interact with.
4. Establish, manage and monitor H&S standards, processes, communications, and training, ensuring safe systems of work are in place for all activities.
5. Manage the budget, including operational and capital expenditure, and deliver and embed efficiencies.
6. Work as part of the wider spills programme to seek out new opportunities for best practice in the lining and repairs arena.
7. Work with highways and local authorities to ensure we can complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible whilst maintaining great relationships.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Some direct experience in managing, leading, and inspiring teams in a customer-focused operational environment would be advantageous. A good understanding of the sewerage network and drainage repairs is required, including civils, lining, and patching operations with relevant experience a benefit. You’ll be expected to interact with customers and the general public to deliver a great customer experience, with flexibility to meet both the customer’s requirement and business requirements. Continuous development and improvement of the team is critical, so the ability to understand and put in place plans that build the department through constant innovation and improvements is essential. A full UK driving license is required for the role.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude, we want to talk to you too.
