We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced STRUCTURAL STEEL CONTRACT MANAGER to join a well established manufacturer and supplier of primary and secondary structural steelwork into the construction sector. You will become a key part of the management team with cradle to grave involvement in winning and delivering projects primarily within the greater Midlands but occasionally further afield. This is an office based position, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary in the region of £45-50k (negotiable with experience), car allowance and benefits package. As the STRUCTURAL STEEL CONTRACT MANAGER within this business you will be expected to: Manage projects through sale sign off, production, installation to customer handover Deliver projects within budget, timescale and to specification Achieve project milestones and fulfil contractual obligations Resolving unforeseen issues and accommodate necessary changes to plans Ensure accurate interpretation of engineering, structural & architectural drawings Undertake site surveys & inspections Ensure that all necessary documentation is accurate and in place Manage on site fitting activities including developing lifting plans and risk assessments Liaise with sub-contractors and customer appointed third parties Work closely with in house Estimators towards successful tendering Resolve queries arising during the production / fabrication process Ensure the supply of correct materials, plant hire and third party contractors where necessary Promote Health and safety compliance particularly in the field The successful STRUCTURAL STEEL CONTRACT MANAGER will be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience: A proven track record of managing structural steel fabrication and installation projects Project management and planning programs of work Interpreting structural, engineering and architectural drawings Developing lift plans and risk statements for site based installations Managing budgets and financially literate In depth awareness of site based health & safety requirements Excellent communication skills at all levels CSCS card, CPCS / NPORS Appointed Person SMSTS qualification preferred A current UK driving license is required for site and customer visits This STRUCTURAL STEEL CONTRACT MANAGER position will ideally suit someone with a project management, contract management or even site management background gained within the structural steel sector, be it manufacturing, fabrication, steel erecting or all.
