Trainee Quantity Surveyor – 2025 - London

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will join the Building team’s award-winning public-sector projects which have included Bath Spa University, the Royal London Hospital and Bristol schools. In the private sector, our focus is on commercial and mixed-use buildings.
What you'll do:
* Supporting project delivery by managing subcontractors and adhering to the timelines of the project
* Assisting with the procurement of sub-contract packages and building strong relationships with subcontractors based on good communication and trust
* Working within the project’s commercial team, measuring levels of work done
* Liaising with the site team to assess completion of works and clear for payment
* Completing site measurements and records, day work sheets, labour and plant returns
* Preparing contract documents including scopes and sub-contract warranties
* Working with numerical data in multiple software programmes to record payment applications and payment certificates
* Learning to manage the commercial success of a project alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and construction professionals.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Level 3 qualification such as A level, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent
* 5 GSCEs including Maths and English grade 4 or above
* Enjoyment of teamwork
* Comfort with various computer software packages and numerical data
* Enthusiasm to learn and proactiveness in your work approach
* Keen to bring new ideas to help us innovate and work better

What qualification will you be studying towards?
You will be studying a level 4 qualification in Quantity Surveying at a local college or University, with a plan to progress to a level 6 qualification afterwards.
