Position: CDM Advisor
Location: Gloucester Area (Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CDM Advisor to join our clients team in the Gloucester area. This is a permanent role with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements. As a CDM Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, promoting best practices in health and safety, and supporting our clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordinate the Project Health & Safety File: Develop and maintain the file, interfacing with stakeholders to ensure relevant information is obtained and included
2. Assist with Construction Phase Plan: Ensure inclusion of relevant pre-construction information
3. Manage PD Communication: Chair relevant PD communication and coordination meetings and workshops
4. Set Up Communication Channels: Manage suitable communication channels and mechanisms for PD-related information
5. Liaise with Stakeholders: Ensure all risks are effectively managed, ensuring design is carried out in line with the principles of prevention. Communicate residual significant risks to stakeholders and ensure constructability, usability, and maintainability are properly addressed in design
6. Share Information: Liaise with the client, other CDM duty holders, and stakeholders to share relevant information for planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of work
7. Support Client Duties: Ensure the client is aware of their duties under CDM2015 and provide support as needed
8. Review Safety Documentation: Appraise risk assessments, method statements, and related safety control documentation.
9. Competency Checks: Ensure CDM/PD-related competency checks are carried out on relevant project and supply chain stakeholders and manage competency status
10. Technical Assurance Function: Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Technical Assurance Function Principal Designer Management & Oversight Manual. Ensure ongoing adherence to processes and provide guidance on interpretation where appropriate
Qualifications:
11. Relevant engineering degree preferred, but relevant H&S qualifications considered
12. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
13. Previous demonstrable experience in CDM and/or Principal Designer roles (as the appointed duty holder or in a support capacity)
14. Proven experience in a highly regulated industry; experience in Defence or Nuclear sectors is an advantage
15. Trained and/or qualified in HSE auditing with relevant auditing experience
16. Construction site experience preferred
17. Experience in HSE management at the design stage and of supply chain activities
