About the role DS Smith Packaging have an exciting opportunity for a Despatch Manager to join the team at our Burscough site. Working closely with the Production Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Production/Transport Planners, this role will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of a busy warehouse on behalf of a 24/7 site. Key duties and responsibilities include: Drive site safety culture. Responsible for all safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards in all ware house and yard areas. Daily communication with hauliers. Manage a department of approximately 27 people, including overseeing performance, attendance and conduct matters. Responsible for site security standards in all warehouse and yard areas. Raising and tracking of purchase orders for third part logistics and pallets. Manage the Transport cost spreadsheet, estimate and actual. Management of pallet stocks on behalf of the site. Manage collection/exchanges for all general, metal, wood, reel core and effluent waste.
