We have vacancies for dedicated Senior Support Workers to join our team in a Learning Disability unit service in West Belfast.
The service will be supporting residents with Learning Disabilities and complex needs within their own self-contained apartment to live a full and valued life.
Job type: Full time or Part time, permanent
Salary: Circa £14 per hour

About The Role
Key responsibilities:
1. As a Senior Support Worker, you will work with our residents to help them live a full and valued life.
2. Assist in the safe administration of medication after full training. Liaise with Team Leader and Home Manager around any issues with safe administration of medication.
3. Support the Team Leader to provide the highest quality, person-centred care.
4. Assist residents with daily living activities and personal care whilst promoting independence, respect, and dignity.
5. Support residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
6. Promote best practice in relation to health & safety, confidentiality, and security. Care will be carried out under the supervision/direction of a Team Leader and Home Manager.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of previous Care Assistant experience and have achieved a minimum of NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Additionally, you must have a clear record regarding professional conduct, performance, and attendance.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Caring and friendly nature to help create a homely environment for our residents.
2. Excellent communication and people skills, particularly with people with Learning Disabilities.
3. Experience in a care background is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
4. Apprenticeship programme which will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and achieve qualifications in NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care which will enhance your career prospects. With future plans to complete Level 5.
