As an Engineering Apprentice, you will embark on a journey to become a highly skilled engineer by acquiring a diverse range of technical skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience. Through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training, you will support the delivery of innovative engineering solutions and contribute to the success of our projects. This role is designed to prepare you for professional qualifications in engineering and to develop your potential as a future leader in the industry.
Vacancy Location: Weetabix Ltd, Weetabix Mills, Burton Latimer, Kettering, NN15 5JR
Training Location: MTC Training, Pilot Way, Ansty Business Park, Coventry, CV7 9JU
Working Week: Days for the first two years, then go onto shifts in year 3 (to be confirmed) hours
Wage: £13,759.20
Responsibilities:
* Attend all relevant training and complete required course work.
* Gain hands-on engineering experience working alongside and under supervision.
* Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge in line with the apprenticeship program.
* Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of engineering systems and equipment.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
Prepare and present reports on maintenance tasks, project progress, and outcomes.
Candidate Skills and Qualities Required:
* Good IT skills; ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Good communication skills to build relationships with diverse teams.
* Good time management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
* Ability to work flexibly, adapt to different circumstances, and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
* Driven and self-motivated; able to work on own initiative, sometimes under pressure and to tight timescales.
* Must be able to travel to Coventry for training and to site in Kettering.
MTC Training Eligibility: 5 GCSE's grades 9-4 / A*-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or English Literature.
