The registered nurse will maintain a nursing culture which is open to change, new ideas, concepts, and innovations. They will participate in the development and delivery of a philosophy of care that involves and respects the rights of patients, carers, and staff. This role requires the ability to relate to all staff and patients confidently, demonstrating good listening skills and working effectively as part of a team, while creating, maintaining, and enhancing effective working relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Participating in the assessment of health-related needs of patients and their families/carers.
2. Contributing towards the formulation of a plan of care with the patient and their family/carer.
3. Delivering direct care to patients in accordance with the Trust's policies and NMC Guidelines.
4. Continually assessing and evaluating the patient's condition and the effectiveness of the care delivered with a senior member of the team.
5. Promoting a multi-professional approach to maximize the patient's health and independence while utilizing resources appropriately.
6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current nursing issues and practices.
7. Working as a registered nurse without direct supervision.
8. Recognizing areas of conflict and assisting in the management of these to promote a healthy working environment.
9. Maintaining an awareness of national and regional initiatives.
10. Participating in clinical supervision.
11. Acting as a positive ambassador for the Trust.
12. Striving for continuous improvements in the delivery of high-quality patient-focused care.
