You can hear from some of the IDC team here: www.idc.uk.com/careers/working-at-idc What you would be doing: Idea generation based on preliminary research and sound engineering principles Detailed design from concept to production with high attention to detail working closely with the ID and electronics teams. 3D CAD modelling (Solidworks) Design of proof of principle test rigs & assembly jigs Managing prototype production and testing to prove out principles and production solutions Liaising with different manufacturers and suppliers to ensure solutions are easily transferred into production Interfacing with clients from report generation and presentations to demonstrating your production-ready solutions. Our team at IDC would work closely with you to support your effort, whilst ensuring that your desire to create inventive solutions is realised. What we need from you 0 - 3 years' experience Achievement of 1st or 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Product Design or similar. Creative problem solving with an aptitude for researching and applying different technologies Knowledge of manufacturing processes for plastic and metal Strong analytical skills Ideally experience of electronics integration i.e., specifying motors, pumps, batteries etc. Having a keen, pro-active and flexible approach Good presentation and communication skills Strong CAD Skills – solid & surface modelling as well as 2D technical drawing creation preferably using Solidworks You will be expected to show a portfolio of work during interview if selected.
