Job summary The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Partnership fully integrates the pathology services delivered on behalf of the Partner Trusts within the Integrated Care System (ICS) footprint; Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This role sits within South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Histopathology Admin Team who will provide the management of the administrative and operational tracking of Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytology samples to ensure efficient workflow and enhance patient experience. The Workflow Tracker will work closely with Trust/Specialty Cancer Trackers to monitor cancer-related cases and validate histopathology performance against national turnaround time targets. There are 3 x 37.5 hours roles available to cover all Histopathology South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology locations. Travel across SYBP will be required in this role. Main duties of the job To provide management of the administrative and operational tracking process of Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytology samples, enabling seamless delivery of pathways maximizing patient experience. To work closely with Trust/Specialty Cancer Trackers to identify and track cancer related work. To provide validation and monitoring of the histopathology performance against national set turnaround times. Identifying and investigating delays, bottlenecks, or other issues impacting workflow efficiency. Identifying areas for improvement in the tracking processes and systems and implementing necessary changes. To collaborate with laboratory, histology administrative and Consultant staff as well the site cancer MDT coordinators and offer dedicated support to both clinical and non-clinical teams. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance measures and maintaining documentation of Histopathology cases. To ensure all information relating to the Histopathology case tracking is communicated effectively and by the most appropriate medium.
