It's rewarding, challenging and loads of fun; you'll meet some great people, and have access to brilliant training and development opportunities!\n\nPosition: Support Worker (Vocational and Community Services)\n\nLocation: Hunslet and Armley, Leeds - You will work at a number of locations across the city, including community settings, and at both of the bases at LS10 1BX and LS12 1TZ\n\nHours: full and part time hours available (min of 21 hours), Mon to Fri with shifts between the hours of 8:30 and 6pm.\n\nSalary: £12.60 per hour\n\nAbout the role: \n\nAs a Support Worker you will help to improve the lives of the adults supported by promoting understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and helping them to be included and feel valued within their communities.
You will be committed to maximising personal liberties and enabling people to make choices and decisions about their own lives. To ensure the highest standards of support are provided to the people who are supported, you will work within local and national guidelines and always strive to provide the best experience for service users.\n\nKey responsibilities will include: \n\nSupporting people to develop their skills\nIdentifying opportunities for personal development\nDeveloping confidence and self-esteem\nPromoting physical and mental wellbeing\nSupporting people to plan their own support\nFacilitating communication and social understanding\nHelping people to develop coping strategies and manage behaviour \nProviding practical and emotional support\n\nAbout you: \n\nYou don’t need to have worked in supported social care before to apply for this role, if you are caring, kind, and patient this is for you.
