What you'll do:
As Operations Co-ordinator/Shift Manager you will be based within a newly installed, highly automated department on existing growing and new manufacturing facilities. Your focus is upon SF&A activities; responsible for the direction of the teams; reporting to the Senior Process Leader - Operations. Involved in the co-ordination of people, and management of the production processes and equipment within the manufacturing environment according to the production schedules, as well as quality, volume, cost and waste reduction standards. You will maximise the output from the asset which complies fully with SHE, Quality and GMP to reach the bold ambition for the business area.

Responsibilities:
Drive the minute-by-minute lean performance across the line for shift team to maximise production outputs during the shift.
'On the job' direction of a shift team of SF&A operators and in the execution of specific stages/activities of the manufacturing process.
Hands-on support for the operational teams working with electronic systems.
Smooth operation and flow activities to achieve the target daily capacity.
Level the team workload across the stations, eliminate waste, responding and removing bottlenecks in a shift to meet daily plan (responsible for the organisation of staggered breaks/staggered starts, etc.).
Responsible for removing waste (Lean) by responding to signals and KPI's from digital tools like TrackSys, Smart-Factory Rx, etc, to optimise the flow of the asset.
Drive problem solving and Continuous Improvement: Level 0 facilitator to ensure the definition of any issue is clear and to ensure the appropriate support is engaged if escalation is required.
Focus on Changeover Reduction; Be a "PIT STOP" Leader ensuring effective preparation, communication, and execution of changeover procedures across all stations of the line.
Essential Skills/Experience:
1. Existing experience of working within an aseptic or clean area of production.
2. Basic Knowledge of GMP and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements
3. Experience of supervising/leading in a manufacturing environment
4. Strong IT/computer literacy with the ability to embrace new technology
5. Ability to prioritise tasks, resolve issues and work under pressure
6. Role model promoting a positive “can-do” attitude across the shift team
Desirable Skills/Experience:
7. Experience of working in a highly regulated Pharmaceutical environment
8. Knowledge in Syringe Filling & Assembly Processes
9. Validated in gowning
10. A-levels in a Science, Technology or Maths (or equivalent)
11. Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work
12. Experience in continuous improvement and Manufacturing Excellence
13. Strong problem-solving skills
14. Experience of electronic batch records
Role Parameters:
15. This role requires that you will be sterile gowned for up to 50% of the shift.
16. The role is currently on a 7 day, 2 shift pattern consisting of AM and PM shifts. More details of this pattern are available upon request.
