A leading food and drinks business with multiple accreditations in the organic, healthy eating and fair-trade space, is currently seeking a recent graduate to join their purchasing team as an Assistant Buyer.
Working in a small team, the Assistant Buyer will support and report to a Senior Buyer and will be responsible for working closely with cross functional teams to develop category portfolios and contribute to overall growth and profitability.
The successful Assistant Buyer will be a recent graduate with a keen interest in developing a career within buying / purchasing in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage multiple projects and workloads. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and a natural ability to engage with multiple stakeholders is key.
Responsibilities include:
* Monitor supplier performance and develop good supplier relationships
* Supporting the Senior Buyer in negotiating prices and productivity plans
* Supporting the negotiation of exclusivity agreements, tenders and contracts
* Ensuring timely communication with all internal/external stakeholders
* Keeping an active watch on what is happening in each category eg: product innovation, category trends, market players, competitors etc.
* Initiating and contributing to innovation and/or renovation projects
* Engaging internal and external stakeholders through effective, concise communication
* Maintaining pricing sheets, GPC’s, supplier database masterdata
