We're working with a well-established and forward-thinking organisation that is looking to recruit an experienced Field-Based IT Field Installations Engineer to deliver top-tier support and installations across various UK sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Installations & On-Site Support: Travel to project sites and client offices to install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of IT systems, including AV setups and video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
2. Hardware Setup & Maintenance: Install and maintain IT hardware such as network cabinets, cabling, access points, printers, and plotters.
3. Network Support: Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless network connectivity issues and ensure stable, secure connections.
4. Incident Management: Prioritise and resolve support tickets following escalation procedures where required.
5. Asset Tracking & Inventory: Maintain up-to-date records of hardware in the field and support procurement and audits.
6. Documentation & Reporting: Keep technical documents and site handbooks current; ensure all expense claims are submitted according to company policy.
7. Customer Support: Provide a responsive, customer-focused service both onsite and remotely.
8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal IT teams to resolve complex issues and improve support processes.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a field-based IT support or IT installations role.
2. Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and AV systems.
3. Hands-on experience with video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Experience with Amazon Chime is an advantage.
4. Excellent troubleshooting abilities and confidence working independently.
5. Great communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel, especially within the Midlands area.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar.
2. Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Additional Information:
1. The role involves regular travel across the UK, primarily within the Midlands region. A company vehicle and travel expenses are fully covered.
2. Some evening or weekend work may be required for urgent tasks or project installations.
