Logistics Operative

About the Role:
Serco is a leading provider of public services, trusted to manage complex operations with precision and care. We are currently looking for a meticulous and driven Part-Time Logistics Operative to join our Secure Contracts team in North Lincolnshire.
This role plays a critical part in supporting our secure warehousing facility, ensuring seamless logistics operations, maintaining quality assurance, and upholding health and safety standards.
You will work closely with the Logistics Manager and Senior Management Team to provide essential business support, manage operational processes, and promote diversity, inclusion, and excellence within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide logistical and administrative support for daily operations across a secure warehousing facility.
* Conduct comprehensive quality assurance checks throughout all stages of asset movement, ensuring the accuracy of records and processes.
* Liaise with customers to manage asset expiry dates and ensure proper reporting.
* Act as the main point of contact for specific internal and external communications, representing the team at various forums.
* Oversee health and safety compliance at the site, ensuring incidents are promptly reported and escalated as necessary.
* Operate forklift equipment, including reach and counterbalance forklifts (training provided if necessary).
* Maintain and update records related to overtime, vehicle fleet management, and purchasing through SAP systems.
* Contribute to process improvement and operational excellence initiatives, working to streamline workflows and ensure efficiency.
* Promote diversity and inclusion and act as a champion for employee wellbeing within the workplace.
* Support business continuity efforts and assist in managing risk within the operation.
About You:
To excel in this role, you will need to be an organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a process-driven environment. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, and a flexible approach to your work.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* IT literacy, with strong working knowledge of SharePoint, MS Office 365 (including Excel, Outlook, and Word).
* Experience in quality assurance and/or health and safety environments.
* Understanding of asset management, including auditing and reporting processes.
* A clean UK driving license.
* Experience in project delivery or change management is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to meet strict deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a high standard of accuracy.
Additional Requirements:
* Candidates must successfully obtain and retain HM Government SC Enhanced security clearance, which requires an in-depth vetting process involving financial, residential, and personal information.
* This is a uniformed role requiring professional presentation at all times.
* Training will be provided for specific tasks, including forklift operation, first aid, and fire marshal duties.
* A flexible approach to duties and working hours is essential.
