We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as an Equine Veterinary Patient Care Assistant or Equine Registered Veterinary Nurse at Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group.
Location: Morpeth, Northumberland
Contract: 12 Month Maternity Cover
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday with a share in the on call and weekend rota.

About the role:
The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, and as an Equine PCA you will be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients. For the right applicant, there is a possibility long term to train as a Registered Equine Veterinary Nurse.
Some of the duties will include:
2. Assisting with inpatient care
3. Assisting the vets with clinical procedures
4. General cleaning and maintenance duties
5. Running internal lab samples
What we're looking for in our Equine Veterinary Patient Care Assistant:
6. An excellent communicator with strong empathy
7. Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
8. Experience in equine welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of how to meet the welfare needs of horses
9. Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
10. A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
11. Experience in looking after animals in a veterinary environment would be desirable
