Job Role: CNC Machinist
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The responsibilities include:
1. Programming, setting, and operating various CNC machines, including sliding head and fixed head lathes (Star, Miyano & Citizen).
2. Manufacturing components to specified tolerances and maintaining high-quality standards.
3. Using inspection equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and shadow graphs to check components.
4. Setting machines independently without requiring input from others.
5. Preparing machines to run unmanned during night shifts or weekends.
6. Programming machines at the control panel, offline, and using CAM software (Esprit).
7. Creating tool sheets to assist in machine setup and operation.
8. Meeting preset targets related to cycle times, run times, and setup times.
9. Performing basic maintenance tasks like changing filters, topping up oils, and replacing consumables.
10. Preparing raw materials and deburring components as needed.
11. Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Candidate Requirements:
* Confident experience in turning operations.
* Experience with FANUC controls.
* Engineering qualification.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Familiarity with using a range of cutting tools.
* Knowledge of feeds and speeds for various materials.
* Ability to set both sliding head and fixed CNC lathes.
Salary & Working Hours:
The salary range is £22,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Overtime is paid at 1.5x. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:15, and Friday, 07:30 to 12:30.
