About the Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a key part of the classroom, providing one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of SEN. You will help these students overcome barriers to learning and assist with the development of their academic, social, and emotional skills. You’ll also work alongside class teachers and other staff to ensure each student’s needs are met, helping them achieve their full potential. Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide support to students with SEN, both on a one-to-one and group basis. Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans for students with diverse needs. Promote a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and progress. Help students build their confidence and social skills, supporting them in the classroom and beyond. Work collaboratively with the SENCO and teachers to implement effective strategies for student success. Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) or in a similar role is desirable. A passion for supporting students with SEN and a desire to make a difference. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude. Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students. A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Availability to start immediately and work full-time.
