Job Title: Internal Auditor
Location: Hybrid (Peterborough office twice per week)
This role has with regular travel around the UK and Europe (around 50% of the role)
Are you a qualified accountant (ICAEW) with experience in audit,risk or controls? Looking for a role with a large, well established and expanding group that can offer you the opportunity to work across a really interesting and broad portfolio of internal business divisions and fast track your career?
Due to continued growth, we are excited to be recruiting an additional Internal Auditor to join our professional team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with our Internal Audit Manager and the senior Finance Leadership team within AB Agri and ABF Group more widely. Conducting audits for a variety of divisions, with an overall turnover in excess of £1bn.In this role you will be able to build great relationships across the business whilst supporting, engaging and advising senior stakeholders regarding risks and opportunities for growth, offering solutions and better ways of working to ensure our business is working in the smartest way with clear and robust control frameworks.
As the business continues to grow and evolve, you will also have the opportunity to gain exposure and be involved with M&A activity from a financial perspective.
What you'll be doing:
1. Perform audit reviews based on a programme of visits agreed with the Internal Audit Manager, the AB Agri CFO and ABF Director of Financial Control.
2. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures and controls, ensuring compliance with the financial control framework.
3. Present audit findings and make recommendations to management.
4. Prepare and issue audit reports on a timely basis with all recommendations agreed and accepted by the audited business.
5. Monitor management’s implementation of audit recommendations and issue appropriate follow up reports.
6. Ensure external audit management letter points are resolved and self-assessment management action plans are implemented in a timely manner.
7. Perform ad-hoc project work as directed by the Internal Audit Manager, AB Agri CFO andthe ABF Director of Financial Control
What you'll bring:
8. Qualified accountant with previous experience of internal or external audit, risk and controls within a large corporate environment
9. Comprehensive organisational skill and project management
10. Previous experience of working within the Big 4/Top 10 is necessary
11. Knowledge and experience of auditing financial control
12. Genuine desire to learn new things, broaden knowledge base and make a real difference
13. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships across a wide group of stakeholders, with varying positions
14. Full driving license and confident in driving to rural sites across the UK
