Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.
A little about myself:
I am a middle-aged gentleman with cerebral palsy, which limits my communication
with people. I communicate using my eyes and nodding my head and also use a
digital aid which speaks words for me.
I am supported by my sister at home and have my own independence in my room
and like to watch television especially snooker, coronation street and re-runs of Only
Fools and Horses.
Tasks involved:
I would like someone to sit with me, whilst my sister has some time to herself to
undertake her own interests and socialise with friends and family. This gives her a
well needed rest.
I normally stay in my room and have drinks at certain times. I do have carers who
provide personal care support, so there is no personal care support involved. This is
mainly a sitting service. I maybe would like sometimes a person to stay and chat with me and use their own initiative with regards my requirement as they get to know me.
If my sister is not available, on the odd occasion, I would require you to ‘meet and
greet’ me getting off the bus which drops me at my front door.
Hours of work: 4 hours per week
I require a PA to be flexible with the hours and sometimes work evenings and
weekends as and when required. Possibly all day on a Saturday on a adhoc basis. A very flexible person is important due to my sisters’ varying engagements and
appointments.
Rate of pay. £12.75 per hour.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
