Elvet Recruitment has been selected to hire a Commercial Analyst for a leading national utilities & water contractor, who specalises in clean water, wastewater, gas, digital networks and infrastructure sectors. With over 10 years of experience in the industry, we are pleased to say they have recently been awarded a major contract with Yorkshire Water, supporting them in proactively and reactively maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years. It's an ideal role for a motivated individual looking to enhance their career within a Commercial environment. The role would be suited to an individual who has strong Excel skills and experience with a Financial background. Main duties will include, but not limited to: Working alongside the Senior Commercial Analysts (QS) Ensuring proper contractual administration of contract/project assigned, including value and cost control, and maintenance of contemporaneous records Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost to allow prompt issue of application for payment/invoice in line with contractual timescales Ensure change control process is managed effectively, including production of early warnings/variations, maximising entitlement Preparation of financial statements in respect to projects/contracts assigned, working with operational teams to confirm understanding of financial position, proactively instilling commercial awareness throughout the wider business. Accepts extra duties as situations arise. Skills and experience: Ability to work in a fast paced environment where attention to detail is crucial Excellent communication skills Able to work in a team Advanced Excel skills essential Previous experience and knowledge of utilities If you have studied Quantity Surveying or have worked in a Commercial Department this would be advantageous.
