Job summary UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OF NORTH MIDLANDS ROYAL STOKE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Advanced Training Fellow - RENAL MEDICINE Applications are invited for an Advanced Training Fellow in the Renal Medicine Department. This post originally replaced a fully recognised training post and the post holder will be given similar training and educational opportunities as those in a training post position. The post holder will be allocated an educational supervisor and will be given the opportunity to perform audits to enhance their CV. The post may also be useful for people working towards article 14 or for people uncertain as to whether they wish to apply for a nephrology post in the longer term.The post and experience has in general received very good feedback from previous post holders. The post holder will participate on a 1:6 weekday overnight on-call rota and weekend on-call rota with a frequency of 1:3. Main duties of the job UHNM renal unit undertakes all aspects of renal care with the exception of transplant surgery. We pride ourselves in excellent care. We consistently perform well in national benchmarking. We have particular expertise in PD (led by Professor Davies international expert). We have one of the highest rates of patients on home therapies in the UK and have been a national leader in developing assisted APD. We are considered a regional model of excellence for providing pre and post-operative transplant care, in a non-transplanting unit. A wide range of sub-specialty clinics are provided.
