As a Project Manager / QS, you will support the delivery of professional project management services and handle quantity surveying duties for our sites. This role involves overseeing project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management Duties:
Manage pre-contract, contract, and post-contract phases of assigned projects as defined by the Commercial Manager.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all project-related documents, including contracts, specifications, and schedules.
Quantity Surveying Duties:
Conduct detailed cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for assigned projects.
Prepare and review bills of quantities, cost estimates, and valuations.
Assess variations and provide cost advice to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
Onsite Management:
Oversee supply chain partners with a focus on quality, safety, adherence to schedules, and cost control.
Project Leadership:
Lead specific projects, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, from initiation to final account. Project values typically range from £100,000 to £2 million.
Tender Preparation:
Conduct site surveys and gather detailed information to prepare specifications and tender documents that meet the required standards for contract procurement.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, including CDM Regulations, Planning and Building Regulations, the Party Wall Act, and the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations.
Budget Management:
Monitor and manage assigned budgets, ensuring expenditure aligns with financial regulations.
Verify contractors’ and consultants’ financial submissions, certifying payment notices monthly.
Project Management Techniques:
Use tools such as cash flow analysis, process management, value engineering, risk management, and quality benchmarking to achieve desired outcomes.
Performance Monitoring:
Track and report on project performance against key indicators, including KPIs, quality standards, and completed work sign-offs.
Stakeholder Management:
Foster strong relationships with customers and supply chain partners, ensuring service quality and satisfaction.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to coordinate information on investment works.
Site Inspections:
Regularly perform site inspections, which may involve working at height, using ladders or scaffolding, and accessing confined spaces.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with colleagues and managers across the organization and clients.
Additional Duties:
Perform any other reasonable tasks as required.

Skills, Competencies / experience :
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in quantity surveying or commercial management, ideally within the construction or coating industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Working Conditions:
This role will involve time both in the office and on-site, working closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to budget and project timelines.
