Role: Mechanical Sustainment Engineer

Key Activities:
1. Maintain design configuration, verifying and qualifying changes.
2. Support cost out initiatives and product return investigations.
3. Maintain product performance and yield using failure reporting and corrective action systems.
4. Perform mechanical design changes via CAD, PLM, and PDM systems, ensuring data quality.
5. Conduct mechanical analysis to determine the suitability of proposed changes.
6. Create technical reports to substantiate and justify design changes and document root causes.
7. Support investigations into technical issues resulting from production and in-service failures.
8. Utilize established problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Apollo, Fault Tree Analysis) for root cause analysis and corrective action.
9. Support process improvement and material cost reduction initiatives.
Qualifications / Requirements:
1. Qualification to degree level in a mechanical discipline, or equivalent experience.
2. Basic experience with CAD systems.
3. Ability to consider designing for manufacture for mechanical-related manufacturing processes.
4. Good document management and technical writing skills.
5. Multifunctional & multi-cultural team working.
6. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
