Summary
You will support the Head of Finance and the wider Accounts Payable team to ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Payable function for the company, with a key focus on utilities.
Wage: £17,000 a year
Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm, working days TBC

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Responsibilities:
* Inputting utility bills into the financial software with key attention to detail to ensure costs are aligned with budgets
* Ensuring records are kept up to date with Utility DD payment amounts
* If credits from utility providers are required, you are responsible for contacting providers and obtaining credits
* Liaising with utility providers when acquiring new apartments to ensure supply is in place before the lease starts
* Liaising with utility providers when dropping apartments to ensure supply is removed. If we are charged after the disposal, you are responsible for liaising with the provider to obtain a refund
* Account reconciliations, such as bank reconciliations
* Entering credit card receipts into the financial software
* Posting payments
* Setting up on-line portals for utility accounts pertaining to property acquisitions
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Interest in Finance
* Excellent communication skills
* Organised with strong time management and prioritisation skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong IT skills - literate in internet browsers and Microsoft Office - you will be trained in additional systems such as OSCAR, Sugar CRM and QuickBooks

Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Course contents:
* Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
* Record and analyse financial data using the organisation's standard tools and processes.
* Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
* Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
* Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
* Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
* Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
* Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
Your training plan:
* Throughout the course the apprentice will be working on their portfolio and new learning in the workplace
* The apprentice is required to attend college one day a week on their designated college day, they will be taught the knowledge to prepare them for examination after each unit
* They will need to pass each of the units to proceed with their learning
