Are you ready for a new opportunity that offers diverse experiences? Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an experienced Learning Disability Nurse, Children's Nurse, or Mental Health Nurse to join our client's secure healthcare team. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct assessments and manage a caseload of patients within a secure environment. The role requires a holistic approach to patient care, addressing a variety of complex needs.
About Our Client:
They are a leading provider of healthcare services in justice environments across the UK, offering primary care and forensic healthcare to a diverse range of patients. One of their key facilities is a secure training centre with an 80-bed capacity, catering to young people aged 12-17.
They deliver comprehensive healthcare services, in line with NHS standards, including GP, dental, optician, physiotherapy, and podiatry services. Additionally, they provide immunisations, sexual health clinics, and specialised programs such as Young Fatherhood initiatives.
What's Involved:
1. Manage your own caseload of patients with diagnosed Learning Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
2. Conduct initial assessments for all new referrals, ensuring appropriate care planning and follow-up procedures are in place.
3. Participate in processes designed to assist patients at risk of self-harm or suicide, in line with NICE Guidance.
4. Engage in monthly supervision with your line manager and complete yearly reviews to assess targets, progression, and learning objectives.
5. Support patients by employing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside patience and resilience.
6. Provide awareness training and advice to staff on the care of patients with Learning Disabilities.
7. Assist in delivering and developing awareness days and workshops in collaboration with the Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT).
8. Participate in weekly Integrated Mental Health Team Referrals meetings to ensure a cohesive approach in managing at-risk patients.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. NMC registration (Part 1)
2. Five years of UK residency
3. Evidence of further development of clinical practice
4. Experience working in a secure environment
5. Degree-level qualification or higher
6. Involvement in innovation or change initiatives
7. Experience in delivering a 'value for money' service
8. Full driving licence
