My client are a privately owned Consultancy in Newcastle who specialise in Civil and Structural Engineering. They have a proud reputation for consistently delivering high quality engineering services at a reasonable cost to their growing list of clients and are looking to expand their team yet again. They are looking for a Senior Design or Technical Manager to come in and deliver objectives through ownership and provision of best practice Project Planning. You will collaborate with the management and project teams and in conjunction with project team; receive project brief, ascertain required skillsets, resource levels and time/cost constraints and produce project plans and inventories Experienced at Management level, you will be responsible for the recording of time expenditure and identification of potential cost overruns and also control resource allocation and deploy the appropriate resource across the company's portfolio of projects. You will assist in assessing the Company's ability to accept new projects and maintain and report resource forecasts to assist in financial planning by ensuring efficiency is maximised and project milestones are met within deadlines You will undertake reviews of available resources and skillsets and assemble project teams and ascertain necessary tasks required for project lifespan and identify milestone dates. By providing resource schedules and managing information flow, you will identify deficiencies in skillsets and determine both internal and external training requirements and issue information required schedules and manage responses. By identifying design modification events and assisting in establishing the cost implications, you will be able to assist in bid processes and establish time/cost requirements, cost expenditure and continuous improvement and report regularly to Directors It is essential that you are able to lead projects in a commercial environment and have a proven track record of managing projects to deadlines with experience of compiling progress reports.
