This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate. Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years. A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment; however, this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

The Opportunity
The Kimberley Region engages with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes in line with community aspirations on behalf of the Australian Government. We offer challenging, interesting, and stimulating work, engaging across all levels of government and working directly with the community. The Kimberley Region is currently recruiting for Engagement Officers at the APS 5 and APS 6 level. The Region’s sub-regional teams are West Kimberley, Central Kimberley, and East Kimberley. As an Engagement Officer, you will be part of a sub-regional team and report directly to the Engagement Assistant Director providing support, leadership, and advice.
